About Me

“I break things virtually so they don’t break in real life.”

Designing with purpose and vision

I'm Surabhi Tiwari, CAE Engineer based in Indore, India

I’m a Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) engineer with a focus on fatigue analysis, FRF analysis, and even vibration fatigue analysis — yes, that’s as niche (and cool) as it sounds. I work with tools like HyperMesh, HyperWorks, and HyperLife to simulate the real world before it ever gets built.

But this site? It’s not about showing off.
It’s about sharing what I know and everything I’m still learning with anyone who’s curious enough to dive in.

Why I Started TheCAELab.com ?

Back when I was trying to get better at simulation tools, I realized how hard it was to find simple, free, and actually helpful tutorials for Altair products. So I decided to build what I wish I had:

A place where engineers, students, and self-learners can explore CAE without hitting a paywall.

I publish tutorials, walkthroughs, and example projects all free because good knowledge should travel far.

Still Learning, Still Growing.

Despite the fancy terms, I’m very much still a learner. Every project teaches me something new, and this platform is a way to document that journey and invite others to walk it with me.

Whether you’re just getting started or knee-deep in nonlinear dynamics, I’m here to help where I can — and learn from you when I can’t.

What I Work On

Here’s what I spend most of my time geeking out over:

FRF Analysis

Studying dynamic responses and system behaviour

01.

Fatigue Analysis

Predicting when and how components will fail

02.

Vibration Fatigue

Marrying time-domain durability with frequency-domain insights

03.

Simulation Workflows

Using HyperMesh, HyperWorks, and Hyperlife for real-world engineering problems

04.

Design mindset

I also enjoy optimizing processes, automating repetitive tasks, and building reusable simulation setups.

Work experiences

I’ve spent over 6 years designing products for startups, SaaS companies, and enterprise clients. From creating MVPs to building design systems.
